雖然iPhone 3G與iPhone 3G S外型長得很像，但骨子卻有大大地不同，除了價格之外，硬體上還有許多不同，像是iPhone 3G S多了錄影與自動對焦（AF）、HSDPA支援到7.2Mbps、藍牙也到2.1、外殼支援防（潑）水、抗污與內建電子羅盤，當然啦，續航力也有所增加。
