雖說 Apple 一直都是以保護用戶隱私不被廣告濫用為賣點,但這並不影響他們推動自己正常的廣告業務。在此之前,App Store 的搜尋頁和搜尋結果中都會出現廣告。而現在官方又宣佈,會在商店的「今日」頁面和 app 詳情頁中也增加新的廣告位,不過推廣內容都是會被醒目標註出來的。

「Apple 搜尋廣告為不同規模的開發者都提供了發展業務的機會。」Apple 寫道,「和我們其它的廣告產品一樣,新的廣告位也是建立在相同的基礎上,即它們都只包含來自 app 方認可的 App Store 產品頁內容,並將遵守同樣嚴格的隱私標準。」

具體來說,新的廣告方案將不得向未滿 18 歲的用戶推薦個人化廣告,也不得利用敏感數據並需要避免精準追蹤。目前還不確定新的廣告位何時會在 App Store 上線,Apple 只表示會在「近期」開始測試。
