Amazon 在美員工中有近兩萬人確診新冠或被推斷為陽性

在被指責公司內感染情況不夠透明之後，Amazon 首度做出回應。

在被 NBC 新聞報導公司內新冠感染情況不夠透明之後，Amazon 選擇放出在美員工的感染數據作為回應。根據他們的統計，在今年 3 月 1 日至 9 月 19 日間，共有約 137.2 萬人曾為 Amazon 或 Whole Foods 工作，在這之中確診新冠陽性或被推斷為陽性的人數達到了 19,816 人。Amazon 強調這個數字其實已經比預想要低，若是引用約翰霍普金斯大學（Johns Hopkins University）同期的數據並計入地區、年齡等因素綜合考量，同樣數量的一般人口感染數理論上會達到 33,952 人之高。

除此之外，Amazon 還公佈了自己在美國各州的感染情況，並將其與當地官方數據進行了對比。在大多數情況下都是 Amazon 給出的數字更低，但也有明尼蘇達這種實際感染率比 Amazon 預期感染率和當地感染率都要高得多的例子（明尼蘇達的 Amazon 員工很早就對工作環境提出過抗議）。值得一提的是，Amazon 的報告中並未將第三方合作送貨員計算在內。

目前 Amazon 每日能在全美完成 1,000 次檢測，他們的計畫是在 11 月前將這個數字增加到 50,000 次，並且要涵蓋 650 個城市。
