今年機械式鍵盤，還有新的造型產生，只是會不會量產，目前還不清楚就是了。不過出現了兩種小眾市場的產品：一個是80％鍵盤，一個是左手鍵盤。

Computex 2008：Ubuntu 針對輕省筆電設計的 remix 作業系統操作影片

前幾天發表專為輕省筆電設計的 Ubuntu Remix 作業系統，畫面為 4:3，但實際看過實機後，真正的畫面為上面的 16 : 9。這也當然，因為所有輕省筆電都用寬螢幕使然。補充一下 Ubuntu Remix 不用桌面的概念，而是固定宮格的方式來呈現作業系統。我們特別請 Ubunto 官方為我們解說 Remix 的操作流程和特色，跳轉看解說影片：

Few days ago, we featured a post about Ubuntu announcing their Remix OS for ultra-portable. In that particular post, the screen capture is shown in 4:3 aspect ratio. However, upon seeing a living demonstration unit, we realize the native screen aspect ratio should be, like the photo above, 16:9, for the reason that most ultra-portables' display are widescreen display. On that note, there is one supplementary information about the concept of Remix's desktop-less interface design. Instead of the conventional concept of desktop interface, Remix used a fixed grid interface to present the OS. We have invited a representative from Ubuntu to show us some features of Remix and how it's operated. Please scroll down and click on the video for this special.

Computex 2008：捷旭電子的多樣隨身碟訂製

「咦，山寨機」我走到一個地方，看到一款我們曾經報導過大陸所做的MP4。攤位有個人走出來，問我什麼是山寨機，他看到我指的機種，便笑笑說：「喔，那是公模啦，如果你有訂製需求的，可以做出來給你們」。

所以說起來，就是所謂的「禮品公司」？雖然是MP4吸引個人的目光，不過事實上，他們最大宗的還是隨身碟。無獨有偶，我們的Annti桑也有跑到一家同樣類型的公司，至於要求數量，說是說1K，不過真的有預算上的問題話，百支也是可以的。只是單位價格會有所不同就是了。

MITS Corp. of China makes all kinds of USB drives; name it cars, knives, key chains or wrist bands. If you can come up with your own design, they will make it to order with a minimum order of a thousand. It sounds like they are the same type of company as Hallmark that makes cute gift ideas. Computex 2008：這就是傳說中的大補帖機制嗎？

當我在接觸電腦不久的時候（雖然我接觸電腦的時間不算早，不過算算也超過十年了），有個名詞非常流行，據說是來自於某泡麵名稱。無論是程式還是遊戲，只要有那一片光碟就行了。當年的光華商場，還曾經盛行一段時間，在門口邊，或是走廊邊，都會有人站在著那邊，放著一本本的目錄，讓人參考。據說一片光碟賣一千元，而且還有可能假的或壞掉的，若遇到這樣的事情，去論理還會被恐嚇，不過我也是聽說啦，因為我沒有在光華買過大補帖。

不過，總是會對於大補帖的產能好奇。總不可能自己在家，一片片慢慢燒吧，一定有個大量生產的機制。一直到看到的瞬間，終於可以想像了。

In the old days, pirated CDs were sold in dark corners of markets. You can get any game or software at a fraction of its retail price (we do not encourage buying pirated software). You can look up what you want in a printed catalogue and tell the "pimp," and they'll hook you up. Sometimes they'll even sell you fake or broken CDs. I always wonder how they manage to burn so many discs in such a short amount of time. This machine might be the answer.

Computex 2008：輕省筆電有可能成為禮品公司中的商品？

其實除了FIC之外，還有一些不知名的攤位也有展示輕省筆電。像圖中這樣的展示，就有看到三、四家有了。由於昨天個人所到之攤位，塞滿了買家的詢問，所以我也不好去問詳細情形。都在旁聽偷偷聽一些耳語，例如：

賣：「左邊這台是筆碩的Eee PC，右邊這台是我們的，你看看我們做的筆電，比他們還小呢，價格還比較便宜」
買：「你們公司在哪？這個是在哪兒作的呢？」
賣：「我們公司在台灣，這台是在大陸做的，品質很讚的，不用擔心」
買：「我們公司在大陸，剛好有這個需求。好，我再看看，等下再過來」。

我哩...，我還以為我有機會偷聽到價格說。我的感覺是，再這樣下去，也許哪一天禮品推出輕省筆電，成為最當紅的贈品就帥氣了。

[Would Netbooks appear in Hallmark one day?]

We've seen enough ultra-portable or Netbooks at Computex already. Nonetheless, we still keep on bumping into some unknown companies showing Netbooks like this (see picture). We didn't get to ask them questions, because booths like this are always packed with people. A typical conversation at these booths usually carries on like this:

Seller: "Hey, this is Asus Eee PC, our Netbook is so much smaller in comparison."

Buyer: "Where are you from? Where is this made in?"

Seller: "Our company is located in Taiwan, but this machine is made in China. Don't worry, the quality is guaranteed."

Buyer: "Oh, my company is in China too, and this looks exactly like what we need. I'll come back in a bit."

It sounds like everyone is competing on lowering the price. Perhaps one day Netbooks will be so cheap that they are sold at Hallmark.

這次的Comuptex，在鴻海的攤位上就看到這樣的產品，而且同是採用德州儀器的DLP技術。

Remember this post about TI showcases diminutive DLP pico-projector?
In this year's Computex, we found one of this particular kind of product in Foxconn's showroom. The pico projector shown in photos below, model PD-H1000, is based on TI's DLP technology. It provides 20 lumens and weights in 109g. We have been told it would be available for under US$300, and its likely to be integrated with handheld devices.

Annti在會場看到一家叫做「JMTek」的攤位，有一大堆造型特別的隨身碟，故走近一探究竟。

Computex 2008：Intel 的同班同學健康又強壯喔！

如果沒有可愛的同班同學 Classmate PC，也就沒啟發 Asus 推出 Eee PC（當然 OLPC 也是），今年 Computex 2008 才會出現到處都有小筆電的盛況，也讓本來應該大量用在 MID 身上的 Atom 處理器，全都轉移到輕省筆電身上。

這次我們終於可以好好的一窺這台始祖級產品，並搭載專為四個孩子們設計的 EDUbutu 作業系統，比起大家長 Ubuntu 來說真的可愛許多。不過要告訴大家，這篇文章可不是像 OLPC 那篇一樣緬懷而已，Intel 打算要開賣這款輕省筆電，而且價格絕對輕切可愛。

不僅如此，同班同學最厲害的地方在於超級耐撞，相當適合給活力/破壞力十足的小朋友使用，我們當場也當回了小朋友，一不小心就把 Classmate PC 拍落地面，結果系統仍然正常運作（感謝SSD的強固穩定），擊點全文看真相影片和Classmate PC 更多照片：

[The grandpa of all ultra-portables is still kicking around]

If it wasn't for the Intel Classmate PC, there wouldn't be Eee PC and a whole school of ultra-portables. Also, thanks to the Classmate PC, the Atom processor is now used on most ultra-portable notebooks instead of MIDs. The Classmate PC we saw at Computex is running on EDUbuntu, which looks a lot cuter than the original Ubuntu. Also, unlike the OLPC, which is going in history, Intel is actually planning on retailing the Classmate PC, and the price will definitely be appealing.

The best thing about the Classmate PC is its durability, which is perfectly suited for kids. Speaking of which, we accidentally dropped the Classmate PC onto the ground, and everything is still running smoothly (thanks to the indestructible SSD). Click on read to watch a video.

Computex 2008：明哲簡單介紹

台灣代工有些產品不錯，不過在很多時候，代工廠並不願意曝光，最主要的原因，他們的客戶都不是很願意。所以，如果有機會的話，有好的產品，又是台灣代工的，能見光的話，我就盡量寫出來。

對於了解機械式鍵盤的玩家來說，flico這個品牌應該是很清楚的吧。明哲（datacome）有幫這個品牌做藍芽無線機械式鍵盤。還有數字鍵區鍵盤。而明哲也是現今少數有做機械式鍵盤的廠商。有機會的話，筆者與明哲再確認一下，看看能不能做個專訪。

There are many OEM/ODM companies in Taiwan that make great products. However, most of them remain behind the scene because their customers usually don't like to disclose their names. So, we will cover Taiwanese OEM/ ODM products as many as possible.

Filco is pretty famous for their mechanical keyboards. The Bluetooth wireless mechanical keyboard from Filco is actually manufactured by Datacomp electronics. If possible, we'll try to get an interview with Datacomp to talk about their specialties.

Computex 2008：AMD Showgirl集集樂

這麼多AMD SG，你要選哪一個？？？

在這次的Computex，各家廠商都有自己的SG軍團，其中AMD的SG最為吸引Annti注意。其原因不是他們最正，而是他們有個「SG尋寶」的遊戲。

[AMD SG treasure hunt (what?)]

Many companies at Computex have their own showgirls. However, we like the showgirls from AMD the most, not because they are the prettiest of them all but because they have a "SG treasure hunt" game. How it works is the showgirls are dispersed in the exhibition hall to give out passports, and the each showgirl has a sticker. So you have to walk around the exhibition hall to find at least 3 of them, collect the stickers, and you can redeem a cup of coffee at the AMD booth. It's actually pretty easy, because there are 14 showgirls on 4F and 3 more hiding in the 1st exhibition hall. We were ambitiously going to collect all of them, but we only managed to get 8.
