前幾天發表專為輕省筆電設計的 Ubuntu Remix 作業系統，畫面為 4:3，但實際看過實機後，真正的畫面為上面的 16 : 9。這也當然，因為所有輕省筆電都用寬螢幕使然。補充一下 Ubuntu Remix 不用桌面的概念，而是固定宮格的方式來呈現作業系統。我們特別請 Ubunto 官方為我們解說 Remix 的操作流程和特色，跳轉看解說影片：

Few days ago, we featured a post about Ubuntu announcing their Remix OS for ultra-portable. In that particular post, the screen capture is shown in 4:3 aspect ratio. However, upon seeing a living demonstration unit, we realize the native screen aspect ratio should be, like the photo above, 16:9, for the reason that most ultra-portables' display are widescreen display. On that note, there is one supplementary information about the concept of Remix's desktop-less interface design. Instead of the conventional concept of desktop interface, Remix used a fixed grid interface to present the OS. We have invited a representative from Ubuntu to show us some features of Remix and how it's operated. Please scroll down and click on the video for this special.

Ubuntu正在被越來越多的人提起，當然，隨著輕省筆電時代的到來，Ubuntu聚集的鎂光燈越來越亮，正如其之前被期待的那樣，Computex大展上終於露出其面紗，感覺過去界面是相當整潔，重新設計過的界面針對時下流行的行動筆電進行了重新設定，雖然總體風格和 Ubuntu Desktop Edition 相近，但是Ubuntu Netbook Remix的啟動將更加快速，同時能夠更快的登錄網路及執行常用軟體，獨特的Moblin技術專門針對Atom處理器開發，不過到年底，配置Ubuntu Netbook Remix的輕省筆電才會面市，我們估計很多OEM產商會加入到這個行列中來。

[Ubuntu Netbook Remix gets offical at Computex]

As Netbooks are becoming popular these days, Ubuntu is also getting more and more attention for its portability. Finally, the much anticipated Ubuntu Netbook Remix gets official at Computex.

The GUI appears to be redesigned specifically for ultra-portable notebooks. Even though it resembles the Ubuntu Desktop Edition in appeaerance, the Ubuntu Netbook Remix has been modified to shortern the bootup time and speed up network connections. Moreover, it features the Moblin technology, which is developed specifically for Intel Atom.

The first Netbook preloaded with Ubuntu Netbook Remix may appear near the end of this year. We expect to see many OEMs adopting this OS.

雖然我們之前就得知這項消息，不過相信微軟總是要找個正式場合宣布一下比較有氣勢嘛！為了避免在輕省筆電這塊大餅上失去優勢，微軟決定要為所謂的「輕省筆電」「易網筆電Netbook」延長Windows XP的授權時間。當然這也包括ASUS的EEE Box和MSI的Wind PC。微軟表示他們至少已經和20家廠商進行合作。Linux，接招吧！

作業系統之爭愈演愈烈，以往微軟獨大時期，在裝機的時候，自然是二話不說，就是Windows作業系統。當然也有使用其他作業系統的朋友，但較侷限於特定族群。不過，由於現今輕省筆電的盛行，採用Vista又有一定程度的困難，這給Linux一個很大的機會（另一方面，微軟也被迫延長XP作業系統，讓XP成為壽命很長的作業系統）。當然，不僅僅如此，之後所出現的MID也會有機會用到LINUX作業系統。雖然Linux作業系統被用於許多硬體產品上，但不管怎說，輕省筆電的出現，給了它很大的機會。至少，以往很少看到如此大規模在一般消費者的筆電上，預先安裝Linux作業系統。

在LINPUS的攤位上（注意喔，LINPUS是公司），發現許多輕省筆電，都裝上Linux作業系統。詢問之下，原來許多大廠，所預先安裝的Linux作業系統，都是來找他們的。也許各位讀者會覺得奇怪，各家廠商的Linux作業系統介面都不太一樣，LINPUS的解釋是說，這個其實是可以做客製化的，視客戶需求，可以來做變化。另外，廠商與客戶經過討論之後，有的客戶還會要求更細緻的介面，這個時候客戶端就需要出美術將介面弄得更細緻。

這一篇，應該是在電腦展中，難得的軟體介紹吧。真沒想到會看到CyberLink。所以啦，一定要拜訪一下的，不過，我來的時間似乎很不巧，因為他們剛好與微軟有約的樣子，所以我了解的時間，全程大約不到十分鐘吧。

大約只有兩點：
一、PowerDVD下一代的關鍵技術（不過TrueTheater技術，滿早就有了）
二、第二版Youcam特色（印象中這已經推出了吧）

You know, software exhibits are usually the oddballs at Computex, so we never thought we'd bump into Cyberlink here. We were going to have a good look at what Cyberlink has to offer, but they seemed to have a business meeting with Microsoft scheduled already. Too bad we only got to spend 10 min at their booth.

Two things you should know about Cyberlink this year: 1. The next version of PowerDVD will feature the True Theatre technology, an image enhancing algorithm that will deliver more saturated and sharper image. 2. Youcam, which is a webcam accessory software, will allow you to personalize your video chat winow.
