Computex 2008：Intel 的同班同學健康又強壯喔！

如果沒有可愛的同班同學 Classmate PC，也就沒啟發 Asus 推出 Eee PC（當然 OLPC 也是），今年 Computex 2008 才會出現到處都有小筆電的盛況，也讓本來應該大量用在 MID 身上的 Atom 處理器，全都轉移到輕省筆電身上。

這次我們終於可以好好的一窺這台始祖級產品，並搭載專為四個孩子們設計的 EDUbutu 作業系統，比起大家長 Ubuntu 來說真的可愛許多。不過要告訴大家，這篇文章可不是像 OLPC 那篇一樣緬懷而已，Intel 打算要開賣這款輕省筆電，而且價格絕對輕切可愛。

不僅如此，同班同學最厲害的地方在於超級耐撞，相當適合給活力/破壞力十足的小朋友使用，我們當場也當回了小朋友，一不小心就把 Classmate PC 拍落地面，結果系統仍然正常運作（感謝SSD的強固穩定），擊點全文看真相影片和Classmate PC 更多照片：

If it wasn't for the Intel Classmate PC, there wouldn't be Eee PC and a whole school of ultra-portables. Also, thanks to the Classmate PC, the Atom processor is now used on most ultra-portable notebooks instead of MIDs. The Classmate PC we saw at Computex is running on EDUbuntu, which looks a lot cuter than the original Ubuntu. Also, unlike the OLPC, which is going in history, Intel is actually planning on retailing the Classmate PC, and the price will definitely be appealing.

The best thing about the Classmate PC is its durability, which is perfectly suited for kids. Speaking of which, we accidentally dropped the Classmate PC onto the ground, and everything is still running smoothly (thanks to the indestructible SSD). Click on read to watch a video.

Computex 2008：Intel Atom 同伴大集合！

數一數，技嘉、華碩、微星、FIC、精英、宏碁、神達、海爾等各家的「Netbook（Intel 給輕省筆電的正式名稱，微軟稱為易網筆電）」我們都看過了，但除此之外上頭還有不少間有自有品牌、或是有筆電代工經驗的廠商，讓人不免聯想到他們是不是也想加入 Netbook 戰場？

最引人注目的當然就是 Toshiba 和 Fujitsu 兩間日系大廠，大陸的聯想、方正、神舟、TCL 等目前雖然都還沒加入戰場，也都有可能挾著大陸成本低的優勢推出真正便宜的 Nettop 和台灣廠商競爭。值得一提的是，Sony、HP 和 Dell 都不在其中（難道 Sony 真的跟傳聞一般的在 VIA 的陣營？Dell 又是怎麼回事呢？）。

We've seen quite a few "Netbooks" (this is Intel's term for ultra-portable notebooks) at Computex 2008 already, but the list of Intel's industrial partners just keeps growing. What catch our eyes on this list are Toshiba and Fujitsu, the two Japanese portable device giants. Although we haven't seen any ultra-portables from Lenovo, Hasee and TCL, they might eventually join the competition. On the other hand, Sony, HP and Dell are not on this list. Rumor has it that Sony might have adopted the VIA platform. Is that true? And what's happening with Dell?

Computex 2008：Intel 用來推動 WiMax 的推手是Segway!!

Intel 想要努力推動 WiMax 的超強兵器竟然是這台科技化的賽格威～賽格威上面放的是 ThinkPad X61t 平板電腦，上面插著感覺很容易折斷的 WiMax Dongle，直接透過 WiMax 讀取網路資訊超方便（也可以在回家的路上，先開啟電鍋和冷氣）。左邊放置 GPS 接受器，讓你在世貿一館騎往南港展廠之間一定不會迷路！

什麼，這台賽格威不准騎，只能放在 WiMax Expo 展廠供大家觀賞而已，太可惜啦！如果 Intel 在這次 Computex2008 舉辦用賽格威體驗 WiMax，再用賽格威玩大地遊戲，贏家攤位上搭載 WiMax 晶片的 ThinkPad X300、Eee PC 全部拿回家，一定比那乏善可陳的 WiMax 體驗 BUS 宣傳效果高到一百倍！

To our surprise, Intel's secret weapon for showcasing the WiMax is this heavily modded Segway!! Shown in the picture here is a Segway loaded with a ThinkPad X61t tablet computer, which has a WiMax plugged in. This allows you to check emails and remote-operate your appliances on your way home. It also comes with a GPS receiver so you'll never get lost!

Too bad they won't let us take this pimped-out Segway out for a spin. If they could organize some kind of Segway football, and the winner takes home the WiMax enabled ThinkPad X300 and Eee PC, and....and.....cough...ok, we'd better stop dreaming. Anyways, don't you think it's a much better idea than the lame WiMax experience bus?
