這玩意兒其實算是整個 Computex 2009 上小薑看過最創新的一個 Netbook 產品，結果偏偏是個上市時間不明的政府機關產品 XD。簡單來說 Mtube II 下半是個正常的 Atom Via C7-M Netbook（事實上他們是一台 HP 2133 改的），而上半則是一台可分離式的 ARM 架構 Tablet。平常的時候可以只用上面 Tablet 的部份，但需要更強的運算能力的時候，插上去就可以跑 Windows 的應用程式了。

這是怎麼辦到的呢？其實說穿了不值錢，它只是在 Tablet 和主機之間做一個網路連線，然後使用遠端桌面將主機的畫面送到 Tablet 上。這樣做雖然會讓影片播放之類的應用執行困難，卻留下了 Tablet 離開主機後，還能透過無線網路繼續 access 主機軟體的可能性。

現場示範人員說這東西要能實現，快的話至少也要個一年才有可能，只能希望有廠商趕快 pick up 這個概念囉！繼續閱讀裡有影片。

<Computex 2009: Mtube II from III*>
We think this thing might be the most innovative netbook in this year's Computex. However, it's a creation of a government organization, which means the chance to see it in the market will be slim. Basically, the lower half of this Mtube II is a normal Atom-based netbook (a modified HP2133 actually), and top half is a detachable ARM-based tablet. Under normal usage, the tablet can operate alone, however, when more processing power is needed, the tablet can be reattached to run Windows applications.

The mechanism behind this thing is simple. A network connection is patched between the tablet and the lower-half base, and a remote desktop application is used to transmit the screen from the base to the tablet. The delay in between may limits its use in video replay or similar applications; however, this design leaves the possibility open for accessing software applications running in the base via wireless connection, while the tablet part is detached from the base.

The staff onsite told us, it would take at least another year of development for this to become a practically usable solution. Meanwhile, we hope there will be some manufacturers picking up this idea and turn into something marketable. Checkout the video clip after the break.

[34.4 秒為這台 SUSE Linux 作業系統配上 Moblin 2.0 的開機時間]

由 Intel 在台研發團隊（台灣Moblin技術發展中心 Moblin Enabling Center，MEC）打造出來的 Moblin 2.0 其實是一張架在 Linux 上面的美麗外皮，而且是 Atom 專用。Moblin 的作業環境分五個區塊，左上角今日工作事項、左下角重要的應用程式，中間我的文件內容以及右邊我好友的現在狀態，再配上最上面的導覽Bar，Moblin 2.0 確實是所有 Linux 在小筆電上表現的最簡潔乾淨好用的應用介面。

Moblin 2.0 其實最適合「還沒真正學過電腦」或「輕量認知電腦」的使用者使用，因為如我媽或者是初學電腦的小朋友，Windows 對他們來說需要花時間來學習的，可能會扼殺他們使用電腦的興趣（尤其是35歲以上的初學者）。但縱使如此，由 Linux 接手的 Moblin.org 必須承接教育的工作，不能簡單丟給硬體商就開賣，這樣必然有不好的結果。

另一方面，Moblin 2.0 用了將近三分之一的版面作為 SNS 最新狀態的呈現，這似乎是網際網路的趨勢，所需要搭配必定是 3G 連網或未來的 WiMax 連網，因此 Moblin 2.0 的輕省筆電最好是透過電訊業者來推廣最為適當。

當然這就是 Intel 的計謀，Intel 所為無他，就是要 Atom 賣得愈多愈好才是，所以才想要一整完全被擊潰的 Linux 輕省筆電市場，讓各家廠商願意為了 Moblin 2.0 再推出搭載 Atom 處理器的 Linux 小筆電。所以對 Intel 來說，不管是藍貓或者是橘貓，只要是 Atom 架構的小筆電就是好貓！

Moblin 2.0 is designed by Intel's development team in Taiwan. It is built on Linux and is designed specifically for Atom. You will see 5 main areas on the startup screen. In the upper left corner is the calender, lower left is the major applications, the middle is the documents, and your friends' status will appear on the right. Add a navigation bar to the top of the screen, and Moblin 2.0 becomes the cleanest and the most user-friendly operating system interface yet.

As a matter of fact, we think that Moblin 2.0 is best suited for the relatively inexperienced computer users. For example, my mom or my kids might find the standard Windows interface a little too intimidating to use. In this case, Moblin 2.0 will help smooth out the transition.

Also, Moblin 2.0 uses about one third of the area for showing SNS status. Perhpas this is the trend for Netbooks with 3G or WiMax capabilities. In this regard, it might be wise to bundle Moblin 2.0 with wireless providers.

Of course, Intel would love to see their Atom sales go up. Therefore, this might be their strategy to invade the Linux-Netbook market by encouraging more Netbook manufacturers to make more Moblin-enabled Atom Netbooks.

Here we have some fresh pictures of the new Vodafone Netbook. This particular Netbook completely matches the profile we've just described. In addition to that is the Moblin 2.0 Aspire One by Acer, which they claim has 11hr of battery life. We also have a video clip for people who are new to Moblin.

AMD今天在Comutex 2009發表新產品，Annti太早到，不小心拍到一些東西後，就廠商被趕出來，其中比較值得注意的就是Acer型號為ZA8的筆電，CPU為 Athlon L110，時脈為1.2GHz，GPU為ATi Radeon X1270，解析度為1366 × 768，也有3G連線。Annti之前沒看過這一部，而且是貼著Gateway的品牌，不過記者會還沒開始，待會就知道詳情了。

這次還有展出明基的Joybook Lite T131（請點我），這部大陸已經發表，台灣還是沒消沒息，現場也有HP Pavilion dv2與Medion Akoya Mini E1311，除了Acer ZA8之外，這幾部都是AMD Yukon平台（Sempron 210U + ATi Radeon HD 3200）。

<Computex 2009: Laptops that use the AMD platform, including the Acer ZA8>

Today at Computex 2009, AMD is annoucing their new product lineup. Our journalist Annti got there too early, and got kicked out after snapping a few spy shots. What catches our attention is the Acer ZA8, which has the Athlon L110 CPU at 1.2GHz, an ATI Radeon X1270 GPU, a screen with 1366X768 resolution and 3G connectivity. This is actually the first time we see the ZA8, and here it is rebranded to Gateway. We will bring you more coverage once the press conference is over.

Also at the scene is the Joybook Lite T131 by Benq, which was announced in mainland China but not yet in Taiwan. Other AMD Yukon laptops include the HP Pavilion dv2 and Medion Akoya Mini E1311, and all of these machines have Sempron 210U and ATI Radeon HD3200.

NVIDIA Tegra 平台今天總算正式跟大家見面了！（上圖為他們家自豪的、比手掌還要小的 Tegra 平台 SoC）

今天的發表會上，主要有幾個重點，一個當然是 Tegra 的技術內幕；老實說也不是啥內幕，就是 NVIDIA 的 CEO 黃仁勳（Jen-Hsun Huang）、行動事業部大頭（General Manager of Mobile Businuss Unit）Michael Rayfield 在發表會上接力狂打他們家一路走來如何不斷投入研發經費，然後最終達到小而省電的境界。

而當中最關鍵的省電技術，就是讓 Tegra 平台上的一堆處理單元（如 CPU、GPU、2D 加速引擎、HD 影片編碼器、HD 影片解碼器、音效、影像處理元件、核心等）可以玩接力賽，在該啟用的時候才啟用，該睡的時候睡，讓每一分電都能最有效的被使用，平均的耗電功率自然就會超低。（現場摸在跑 720p 影片 的 netbook，還真是涼到不像話！ ）

另一個重點，則是 Adobe 跟 NVIDIA 聯袂加入了 Open Screen Project（另外還包括了 Broadcom），這計畫的重點，是讓 Adobe Flash Player 將來可以獲得 GPU 的加持，當然 Tegra 平台的產品，也都會支援 Flash Player，可以讓網路的影音內容播放更加流暢。（現場也有示範，確實相當流暢）

至於在將來 Tegra 產品的特色方面，簡單條列如下：

• 續航力方面，可連續 25 天播放音樂或播放 1080p 影片達十小時
• 遊戲中最高可以 46 fps 來播放動畫
• Adobe Flash 可利用 GPU 加速
• 處理器可以持續在啟用狀態（反正耗電功率低），讓使用者可以快速啟動 netbook
  
• 支援 3G、WiFi、WiMax 等無線通訊方式
  

而在售價方面，則是會有很殺的 199 美元，若獲得通信商補貼，甚至可以更低；當然這次也不會讓大家白跑一趟，有幾家公司已經有一些概念機的推出，在現場則是以 Windows CE 執行（請參考 Mobinnova elan），各位可以在跳轉後收看！

NVIDIA Tegra finally reveals itself today! (Photo above: Their pound achievement, the smaller-than -palm-size Tegra SoC )

In today's product announcement, there are several keynotes, and one of them naturally being the inside story behind the development of Tegra....correction.... it's actually a relayed rally by Jen-Hsun Huang (CEO of NVIDIA) and Michael Rayfield (GM of Mobile Business Unit) on how much research funds they have put in throughout the course of development to make Tegra small and energy efficient.

The key , is to let the processing units (i.e. CPU, GPI, 2D acceleration engine, HD video encoder, HD video decoder, audio and image processing core and etc.) to play baton reply together - active on demand, sleep when done – so every single drop of energy can be used efficiently. (And the live demonstration unit running 720p video proved the point – its cool enough to touch)

The other key point mentioned in the conference is the join- participation of Adobe and NVIDIA in Open Screen Project (which includes other heavy weights like Braodcom). The key to this project is to allow Adobe Flash Player to receive processing support from GPU for smoother video playback. Naturally, the Tegra-based products will be supporting this feature, which is demonstrated live in the conference.

As for the product features of Tegra, here is the list:
* 25 days of music or 10-hours of 1080p video playback on a single charge
* Up to 46fps in video games
* GPU-based video playback acceleration in Adobe Flash Player
* CPU in netbooks can stay on constantly for quick boot up
* Wireless communication support for 3G, WiFi, WiMax and etc.

As for the price, it's estimated to be a rocking USD$199, which may be lower with reimbursement from telecoms. There are several prototype units on display, mostly Windows CE based (see our article on Mobinnova elan here). Continue for more photos after the break!

在幡龍 青磁花花瓶之外，ECS 還為我們帶來了這台漂亮的 ARM Netbook T800。T800 也是今年特別流行的 AA 小筆電（ARM+Android）的一員，採用的是 TI（德儀）的 OMAP3 800MHz 或 1GHz CPU，並內建 8.1" 螢幕、512MB 記憶體、重僅 800g。現場展示機無法開機，所以大家只有看外觀流口水啦！

Apart from the vase, ECS also gives us the gorgeous ARM Netbook T800, which is one of the popular AA netbooks (ARM+Android). The CPU is TI OMAP3 800MHz or 1GHz, with an 8.1" screen, 512MB of RAM and only 800g weights. We couldn't turn it on, so let's gawk.

在路經多彩科技時，看到了機殼、鍵鼠、 喇叭、Power、筆電等等周邊。看來什麼都做。原本沒有什麼特別的感覺，但經過擺放輕省筆電的展區時，有個產品外型頗為吸引人，就是青花瓷系列產品。還記得去年跑Computex的時候，輕省筆電正夯，在展場中，有一半以上的精力幾乎都繞著相關產品在跑。而現在，輕省筆電滿街都是，沒什麼稀奇了。能吸引人的，大概也就外型了。

與廠商交流時，才注意到多彩科技為對岸的公司，在深圳。因此也問了一下，這款產品有沒有可能在台灣上市。他們也提到，來在這邊也是為了找適合的買家。所以......就看台灣有沒有廠商對這個產品有興趣囉。

<Computex 2009: Green Flower Porcelain Netbook from DeLUX Technology>

We stumped across this attractive looking netbook in the mist of computer cases, keyboard/mouse, speakers, and all other assortment of computer peripherals. This netbook, the "Green Flower Porcelain", is from a PRC-based designer/manufacturer called DeLUX Technology Group.

This elegant machine deploys the island-style of keyboard. The overall frame is made from some porcelain-like materials covered with prints of traditional Chinese floral patterns in various places.

We did ask the representative about the price for end-user, it's said to be somewhere above USD$350. Good style always comes with a price, indeed.
