前幾天發表專為輕省筆電設計的 Ubuntu Remix 作業系統，畫面為 4:3，但實際看過實機後，真正的畫面為上面的 16 : 9。這也當然，因為所有輕省筆電都用寬螢幕使然。補充一下 Ubuntu Remix 不用桌面的概念，而是固定宮格的方式來呈現作業系統。我們特別請 Ubunto 官方為我們解說 Remix 的操作流程和特色，跳轉看解說影片：

Few days ago, we featured a post about Ubuntu announcing their Remix OS for ultra-portable. In that particular post, the screen capture is shown in 4:3 aspect ratio. However, upon seeing a living demonstration unit, we realize the native screen aspect ratio should be, like the photo above, 16:9, for the reason that most ultra-portables' display are widescreen display. On that note, there is one supplementary information about the concept of Remix's desktop-less interface design. Instead of the conventional concept of desktop interface, Remix used a fixed grid interface to present the OS. We have invited a representative from Ubuntu to show us some features of Remix and how it's operated. Please scroll down and click on the video for this special.

如果沒有可愛的同班同學 Classmate PC，也就沒啟發 Asus 推出 Eee PC（當然 OLPC 也是），今年 Computex 2008 才會出現到處都有小筆電的盛況，也讓本來應該大量用在 MID 身上的 Atom 處理器，全都轉移到輕省筆電身上。

這次我們終於可以好好的一窺這台始祖級產品，並搭載專為四個孩子們設計的 EDUbutu 作業系統，比起大家長 Ubuntu 來說真的可愛許多。不過要告訴大家，這篇文章可不是像 OLPC 那篇一樣緬懷而已，Intel 打算要開賣這款輕省筆電，而且價格絕對輕切可愛。

不僅如此，同班同學最厲害的地方在於超級耐撞，相當適合給活力/破壞力十足的小朋友使用，我們當場也當回了小朋友，一不小心就把 Classmate PC 拍落地面，結果系統仍然正常運作（感謝SSD的強固穩定），擊點全文看真相影片和Classmate PC 更多照片：

[The grandpa of all ultra-portables is still kicking around]

If it wasn't for the Intel Classmate PC, there wouldn't be Eee PC and a whole school of ultra-portables. Also, thanks to the Classmate PC, the Atom processor is now used on most ultra-portable notebooks instead of MIDs. The Classmate PC we saw at Computex is running on EDUbuntu, which looks a lot cuter than the original Ubuntu. Also, unlike the OLPC, which is going in history, Intel is actually planning on retailing the Classmate PC, and the price will definitely be appealing.

The best thing about the Classmate PC is its durability, which is perfectly suited for kids. Speaking of which, we accidentally dropped the Classmate PC onto the ground, and everything is still running smoothly (thanks to the indestructible SSD). Click on read to watch a video.

這次在 Computex Mio 攤位上問到了很棒的消息，不過為了等上面這張最重要的圖片才拖到現在。還記得在 CES 2008 上我們拍到 Mio 新一代的 3D 地圖嗎（看影片和可愛版連結），當時問展場人員說道這款新地圖只會在歐洲推出。

現在 Mio 合作圖資商 TA 已經運載一台測圖工程車來到台灣，已經在台北市跑來跑去了（上圖為真相），我興奮的問會不會作成如 Google Maps 實況街景這樣的地圖服務，可惜得到的答案是否。不過至少在不久的將來台灣 Mio 的產品也能搭載最新的 3D 地圖，Mio 能重視在地使用者，這是相當值得讚揚的。

為了攻下電腦領域的每一個面向，華碩 Eee 系列的新兵終於亮相，這是一款有點像 iMac 的一體成型電腦 Eee Monitor，原來 Eee Monitor 不是螢幕而已。

Eee Monitor 有 19 到 21 吋，內建電視接收器、起跳價格則是 Eee 系列相當熟悉的 500 美元。和老大哥 Eee TV 42吋電視會在九月時正式推出，另外還有兩個神秘的 Eee 系列產品 Eee S1 和 Eee K1，當然這是什麼我們完全不知道。

說不定和 Eee TV 一樣，我們會在華碩攤位某個神奇的角落發現更多 Eee 系列產品。

Asus' Eee army is arriving fast. After the Eee PC comes the Eee Monitor. Oh wait, it's not just a monitor, but an all-in-one desktop with built-in TV tuner!

The Eee Monitor will come in 19" and 21" and will be priced at around $500 USD. It'll arrive at the same time as its big brother Eee TV in September. There are two other mysterious troops of Eee army arriving soon, Eee S1 and Eee K1. We have no idea what they are.

Perhaps we'll spot more mysterious Eee products at Asus's booth. We'll get back to you on that.

一般 24 吋螢幕的解析度通常是 1920 x 1200，當然可以播放 Full HD 1080p（1920 x 1080）的影片，不過這次 Acer 推出的 P244W 不知道原因為何，特地搭載 1920 x 1080 解析度螢幕，當然可以聲稱為「全球第一款 Full HD 解析度螢幕」...

16:9 的 P244W，規格特色在於擁有 20,000:1 超高對比值以及 2ms(gray to gray) 反應時間，並使用自家ACM（Acer Adaptive Contrast Management）技術，在顏色層次和影像細部表現上多有著墨，特別在過亮或過暗的環境中。另外造型上 P244W 面板上的功能鍵使用觸控式按鍵，這絕對是在意外型表現上的結果，看來宏碁不只是想要俗又大碗，就算穿五分埔也要美的動人才行！

最後 P244W 強調透過 HDMI 端子連接各種設備，沒提及還有哪些端子，有點令人膽顫心驚，但相信基本的 DVI 和 D-Sub 應該不會缺席才是，有色差端子當然更加歡迎。P244W 推出時程和價格目前未知，想進一步瞭解該螢幕的朋友或許可以先參考前一代機種 P243W 的規格。

<Computex 2008: Acer P224W 24" 1080p LCD Monitor>

The common screen resolution for 24" LCD monitors is 1920 x 1200, capable of playing Full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) videos. Acer, for some reason unknown, release this resolution 1920x1080, the "First Full HD Monitor in the World", P244W.

This 16:9 P244W offers HDMI connection, 20,000:1 ultra-high contrast ratio, 2ms gray to gray responds time and ACER's own ACM (Acer Adaptive Contrast Management) technologies which claim to offer better colour richness and details in over-bright or over dark environment. In terms of appearance, P244W uses touch panel for function keys, which gives it a touch of slick design. Official release date and price information is currently unavailable.

說真格的，3C 產品配上什麼明星，不管娜姊或史努比狗狗，看了這麼多，個人認為都是沒什麼意義的產品。上個月參加 WiMax Expo 推廣記者會，拿到一款由方土司做的 MP3 雖身聽當紀念品（這個以後會當贈品送給大家），好死不死裡面裝了周董新專輯的歌曲，我連想都不想就把歌曲給殺掉了...

不過最近這樣的觀念有點被動搖，首先是四月份手機銷售量那件事，我愚昧不知的賤兔手機竟然佔有 0.8% 的銷售量，難道就像朱宅神說的有蔣帥灌頂就會發光嗎？前幾天帶 Casper 去中華電信換第一天使用就掛點的華為 3.5G 網卡，Casper 竟然驚見有人當場購買 Armani 手機，嚇到當場找不到下巴。

原來我太以3C產品本身的觀點看大眾市場，殊不知這些明星或品牌真的有魅力。所以當金士頓（這篇真的廢言到底了，寫到這裡才開始主題）決心以後出什麼隨身碟都要盡力找明星/遊戲/娛樂產業合作時，我心中竟然從不解轉到理解的，包括橫掃中南美洲瑞奇馬丁的隨身碟兼microSD讀卡機、印度人人愛的寶萊屋猛男歌舞隨身碟和感覺外型還要加強的魔獸隨身碟。

金士頓的人員也指出，希望進一步和台灣的相關產業結合，大家趕快來合作。所以下半年看到什麼神奇的隨身碟，大家不要太驚訝喔！

Kingston taps into pop culture industry, showcasing several of their celebrity flash drive products. The celebrity flash drives are flash drives with exclusive or special contents like songs, wallpapers, video clips and etc. Kingston representatives told us they are looking into working with celebrity / gaming / entertainment industries in Taiwan and elsewhere for more of these flash drives with exclusive contents.

金士頓即將要推出的隨身碟 DT Slim，雖然外表看起來沒有什麼獨特之處，不過這款隨身碟改善了這種小小片型隨身碟的不方便之處 -- 插進 USB 很難拔起來 -- 就是尾端有作突起，這樣在拔隨身碟時會方便許多。規格上 DT Slim 有 8 GB 容量，最高讀取速度 5 MB/sec，最高寫入速度 1.5 MB/sec。外型體積 38x12.35x44 mm，並擁有五年保固。

這款產品沒有任何難度，應該會在不久的將來靜悄悄地上市...

[DT slim : Kingston's new memory stick]

The DT Slim Kingston is about to put out does not look special at all. But it has some modification for convenience. The small and flat memory sticks make you look awkward when you try to pull it out. The DT Slim has a raised ridge at the end and gives you something to grab on to. Besides the considerate feature, the specs are : 8GB flash memory, max read speed 5MB/sec, max write speed 1.5MB/sec, with a size of 38x12.35x44 mm and 5 years warranty.

還記得我們在 CES 2008 上看過的這款雙面手機嗎？那時只有外型可以看，但還不能親自操作，眼見這款 LEAP K1 在六月底就要上市（價格未知，大約在新台幣10,000-14,000 之間），當然要趕快把玩一下。先複習一下 K1 的規格和功能，手機部份為 Mio 自習開發系統，PND 部份以 Windows CE 為基礎打造的介面軟體。

通訊系統為 GSM 三頻（900, 1800, 1900）、搭載200萬像素鏡頭、藍牙傳輸（不確定版本）以及多媒體功能（設定於 PND 部份）。手機通訊部份真的很單純手機和簡訊功能，其他多媒體功能都設定在 PND 部份。

When this interesting dual-faced phone was first unveiled at CES 2008, we only saw a dummy. Here comes a fully functional production model. You can expect to find the LEAP K1 in store for about 10,000 to 14,000 NTD near the end of June.

A quick recap on the specs for you: Tri-band GSM (900, 1800, 1900), 2 Megapixel camera, bluetooh (we're not sure about the version yet), and multimedia capabilities in the PND mode. The Leap K1 features Mio's own cell phone interface, which is complemented with a PND system based on Windows CE.
