不過如果真要傳電源的話,應該就是在線材上把銅線跟光纖綁在一起就好了

Apr 26th 2009 9:55PM 你可以去看看那一篇Atheros demo BT3.0的文章,它裡面有網路層的架構.
基本上就是在Bluetooth的L2CAP這層加入可以做multi-radio selection的機制
所以若是走原本的BT,就直接向下到BT的HCI層然後向下,
但若是要走WiFi,就會下到為WiFi新定義的AMP HCI層跟802.11 PAL層,
然後再走到原本WiFi就有的MAC層然後下到WiFi的PHY.
這樣的架構的好處是L2CAP以上完全可以run原本BT所有的upper stack,所以才說是BT over WiFi.
而且這樣子你就可以想見,WiFi的速度不會被限制在只像demo那樣的24Mbps.
那只是因為Atheros在demo時是拿5G的WiFi去配,所以速度才會被限制在24Mbps.
如果你把WiFi的PHY換成4x4的11n,那速度就可以跑到數百Mbps.
這樣一來,我想根本就沒有必要用UWB,因為WiFi本身就夠快又可以傳得很遠,又已經很成熟.
那你也可以想見,這樣一來,直接用BT的video profile對傳高清畫質的影音將會是不久將來就可以見到的事.

Apr 26th 2009 9:31PM 目前有在朝這個方向努力,看能不能一邊用BT3.0還可以一邊用WiFi上網.當然這會是用同一個WiFi.
這個就牽扯到怎麼分配Time slot給原本的BT packet, BT3.0的WiFi packet, 跟WiFi本身的packet.
當然它們從PHY往上層走的路徑是不一樣的,所以會有一堆相當複雜的Software work要做.

Apr 22nd 2009 3:32AM 24Mbps is not the point. It depends on what kind of WiFi you use. Just now they are applying a 11a WiFi which the throughput is 24Mbps. So if you use a 11n WiFi, of course you can have several hundreds Mbps throughput.
The main concept of BT3.0 is to apply the convenience of "Profile idea" of Bluetooth over WiFi when there is a need for big data transfer or video streaming, For some cases like headset or HID mouse, you will still use the original Bluetooth PHY so there's still very low power consumption. That's the point of BT3.0. Of course if we need to transfer video stream like 1080i no-compressed content, we might need to upgrade the WiFi PHY to 4x4 11n. But that's just the silcon difference and surely the chip vendor will provide various of solutions for you.
