It's WHOLE BUNCH of apps using composite effect and I doubt if asus could ever have so much energy on apps developing. If they're capable of doing this, there is no need to stuff poor system like windows into their machine for such a long period.
And it requires a better graphical chip and demands more power consumption as well. It just cut down the original working hours on battery. NICE.
Yeah, there is some screenshot looks like windows xp inside. Before asus implements a WHOLE BUNCH of apps, how could you expect them to develop a full set of composite API for windows xp? So it still much more likely to run Linux, or specifically with compiz, if it ever be implemented.
And if this ever came to market, I bet there will be millions of customers not awaring that it doesn't run windows buying it, moaning for microsxxt office or their games not running, and returning it in just a few days. (sigh)

1.3rd party廠商不肯支援Linux、這根本無解、使用者只能去找類似的*nix alternative
2.安裝軟體的便利性。
說到第二點、我就不得不為這些Linux hacker們抱屈了！
大家有沒有想過「如果說只要用一個精靈、不停下一步、為什麼Linux作不到、不是只一層GUI嗎？」
windows之所以能夠甚麼程式/driver都好作精靈這樣安裝、是因為「大一統」所有核心、library的版本都是一樣的
講句難聽點、你也不用重新linking、因為「全世界windows的核心、軟體所使用的大部分library都一樣老舊！」
而在*nix上、所有的軟體/library更新都是飛快、像是光核心就幾乎半年一刷、如果是常常更新的玩家、要裝新軟體
通常都躲不過要編譯跟重新linking的命運、背後的手續自然不是隨隨便便用精靈那種沒有自訂性可言的方式可以規範！
就算像是Ubuntu之類的distribution通常會有統一的核心和library版本（相對更新頻率來講Ubuntu也比微軟好太多）、
也有不同的軟體間有dependency、但是這方面已經處理的很好、真正嘗試過apt-get或其GUI工具的人就知道、你只需
要勾選想裝軟體、這些統統被自動處理掉了。
結論是甚麼？
當有人在埋怨軟體不好裝的時候、有沒有想過那些hacker們為了系統的彈性跟便利性之間、經過多少試行錯誤？花了多少精神下去試著幫使用者找到最佳平衡？
如果我們換個主詞、如果今天微軟那麼勤勞常常為了效能、針對很核心的library進行更新、因此做出一些ABI變化、那你以前那些軟體不經過linking也沒有用處了、這樣你覺得微軟是對還是錯呢？
所謂「擇汝所愛、愛汝所擇」、這確實沒有誰對誰錯的問題。
只是我選擇了一條我對自己的機器有total control的道路、沒有人（不論是任何一間大公司、還是Stallman, Tovalds）比我清楚我的機器。
如果你認為相容性（我個人當作是「黃金手銬/腳鐐」）勝過一切、就算用非常陳舊的library（也就是implement的技術）也無所謂、Go ahead.
