與其說是雲端運算和線上軟體執行的崛起，不如說是"網路電腦"概念再起。將來還是得面對文書/試算表編輯、信件瀏覽與觀看影片逐漸搬到網路上的一天，瀏覽器變得極為重要：電腦初學者先學會作業系統操作/防護與瀏覽器上網即可，而門檻將逐漸降低之外，功能夠用最重要。言歸正傳，除非它比Eee Box便宜與易用，才會有企業與公共設施考慮採用這類精簡客戶端(Thin Client)。最後還是會被性質相近的 Nettop 取而代之。
