這類的技術直覺上似乎很不錯，但是可能會有其他安全上的隱憂。由於很多功能是透過在網路上的 server 來達成，萬一這個 server 被入侵，後果將相當嚴重。此外，具有 failsafe 功能的筆記型電腦和遠端 server 之間的連線強度是否夠強，會不會有連線遭劫持，導致有人惡意在使用者本身不經意的狀況下，鎖住電腦或刪除資料等等。總之，這種技術是一把兩面開口的劍，沒有小心處理的話，恐怕會有相當慘的後果。
