如果這版 Windows 有特別設計過乃至於的確能夠符合那五大原則 (見我前篇提供的網址)，那麼再說。不過目前看起來要不就是五大原則得做修改，要不就是作業系統封閉、架構在作業系統上的 new Sugar 介面及軟體開放 -- 即便不計可能增加的軟硬體成本，我們至少可以承認這比原先「Free & Open」的想法來得不完美。

我很好奇究竟這些提出要用XP版本的"使用者們"究竟是誰?


如果是收到 OLPC 的學童們要求的, 那應該教導孩子們有關智慧財產權, 並告訴孩子他們現在用的 OS 裡面有多少熱心人士的期待.

如果是買 OLPC 捐給學童的社會人士要求的, 那麼基金會應該是宣導以身作則的重要性, 畢竟這個基金會不完全是商業團體, 不能完全以行商的思維運作, 背叛眾多善心人士的期待 (i.e. 例如說堅持讓微軟獨立行銷OLPC用的 XP 版本, 讓想要將 XP 裝在 XO 上面的人自行採購, 而不是發行預先搭載 XP 的 XO).

如果是收到 OLPC 的國家的官員所要求的, 那麼基金會應該是尋求當地的社群力量調查原因及聯合對當地政府施壓.

但若這些 "使用者要求" 根本是微軟所炮製出來的話....
