太陽能助聽器，讓有需者皆可得

SolarAid在功能上和一般的助聽器沒有任何差別，都可以讓聽力障礙的人正常地生活。然而它有一個決定性的特色值得大家注意─你以為我要說太陽能供電嗎？不，它最大的特色來自於發明者Howard Weinstein的無私想法：設計一個即使最貧窮的聽障人也負擔的起的助聽器，而太陽能只是這個目的下的必備技術罷了。

藉由外界的贈與和幫助，已有30個國家裡的兩萬人藉由此無需額外供電的助聽器重獲新生。現在這位老兄更努力要把這個計畫推廣到中東，中國和印度也在推廣的計畫中。一個好產品配上一個好想法，成就了一則美談。

沒有去做才叫可惜
做了卻失敗不叫可惜。

助聽器的電池費用是很可怕的，對一般人來說會是很大的負擔，以我來說，六顆電池（稱作"一排"）就兩百塊台幣（我用的機型），其他有更貴的。一顆電池壽命大約一週左右而已，若從小就有聽力障礙，一輩子都逃不掉這筆費用的費用糾纏，對於經濟能力不佳的人來說是很大的負擔。（除非放棄配戴助聽器）

文章說已有兩萬人受惠，代表這是可行的點子，值得被研究並推廣出去讓更多聽障者享受聲音世界的美麗。
