這跟Sigma 所使用的感光元件Foveon X3 是有關係的。目前絕大部份的電子感光元件只有一層,所以每單一感光元件只能偵測RGB 中的單一原色(R或G或B) 其他二原色則由CPU演算出來, 而Foveon X3 則是有三層,分別去直接偵測R,G,B 三原色有興趣的人可以直接到foveon 的網站參考http://www.foveon.com/article.php?a=67不過之前sigma 運用Foveon X3推出的數位單眼斯乎都有白平衡不太準的問題,不曉得DP1 是否改善這個問題了呢
