Smith Electric Vehicles的Smith Newton全電動卡車已經在歐洲跑了有一段時間了，現正式登陸美國市場。這輛全球最大電動卡車總重24,000磅（約11,000公斤），由一組「手提箱大小」的278伏特電池和120千瓦的馬達驅動，時速50英里，可跑上150英里，0~30mph加速比相同馬力的柴油機卡車要快。

Smith明年將在弗雷斯諾開辦一間工廠，以適應美國市場的需求，並在2010年前開辦一間更大的，預期產量10,000輛/年。
