COMPUTEX 2007 動手玩：Asus OCgear
華碩的 OCgear 自然也是華碩在今年 Computex 上的重要展品之一，而我們也終於趁此機會搞清楚它用的是什麼介面和顯示卡溝通了：USB。是的，普普通通的 USB。據華碩的說法，本來是要用專門的獨家排線連到顯卡上的，但實做後發現這樣的效率還比不上直接通過 USB 連到 PCIe 去，所以變成直接用 USB 連出去算了。
另外，我們也確認了一些關於筆電用外接顯卡 XG Station 的相關資料：XG Station 將在七八月左右上市，並且初期將搭配 8600GT 或 8600GTS 顯卡一起販售。之所以不讓你自已裝顯卡進去，不是華碩不想（他們也知道強迫搭配顯卡會讓價格難以讓人忍受），但是各家的顯卡 Size 都不同，要寫搭配的 driver 也是很麻煩的事，所以暫時將無法這樣販賣。圖庫中還有一票 OCgear 的各式照片，以及幾張 XG Station 的實照。
The Asus OCgear that popped up last week is also on display here in Computex 2007, and we now finally have answers to some of it's questions. The thing does NOT have a graphic card inside, but instead connects to your card via plain old usb. The guy at Asus explained that a proprietary connection was indeed developed for OCgear, but it turned out that going the usb-PCIe route actually yielded better performance, so a single usb connector is used instead.
