nVidia 展示 GoForce 6100 手持裝置專用強效多媒體晶片

3GSM 的主角們當然是眾家的手機，但是一些背後的技術，也是得好好注意ㄧ下。nVidia 則是在廣達電子的奧援下，藉著他們所設計的概念機，來展示自家多媒體處理晶片 GoForce 6100 在手持裝置上應用的樣貌。

採用時脈 250 MHz 的 ARM 處理器，著重於增加多媒體檔案的快速處理以及安全（按：DRM），支援 H.264 及 WMV9/VC-1 等編碼，能夠輸出最高達 VGA（ 640x480）解析，30 影格/秒的影片；整合了 802.11b/g WiFi（包含 WPA2 加密及 QoS，確保資料傳輸穩定），同時也支援 USB 2.0 界面，並可處理最高達 8mp 的數位影像輸入，耗電量方面，則是僅有現今所有多媒體處理晶片的一半。

預計將在 2007/2008 年間，將會有採用此晶片（或類似）技術的產品推出。跳轉後欣賞 nVidia GoForce 6100 處理晶片在 Khronos 發展的 OpenKODE 1.0 軟體界面（可以視為手持裝置上的 DirectX）上的執行的展示圖。
