Intel 展示第一顆四核心晶片

就在我們抱著剛買的雙核心筆電洋洋自得的同時，Intel 仍然不忘提醒我們一下雙核心已經不是最尖端科技了。Intel 資訊長 Justin Rattner 剛展示了公司下一代，代號為「Clovertown（幸運草小鎮？好名字）」的四核心處理器，並預計將在 2007 年推出雙晶片，也就是一共八個核心的伺服器用處理器。Rattner 表示 Clovertown 架構可以延伸到一個晶片上放置 32 或更多個核心，甚至上百個 CPU 理論上都是可能的。

但是如同大家知道的，32 個核心並不等於 32 倍的速度，除非有哪種電腦應用須要同時做 32 種不同的運算－而且軟體也支援 32 個不同的 CPU －不然 32 核心也只是個笑話而已。

所以四核心或至多八核心大概就是一般使用者用得著的上限了。再下來要怎麼走呢？Intel 捨速度而改為強調效率，晶片元件的密度也快來到物理限制的上限值。這是不是表示摩爾定律在修正了多次之後終於要失守了呢？讓我們看看電腦在下個十年間會朝向什麼方向發展吧。

說不定是文中提到摩爾定律同時又提出CPU可能往新的架構方向走去,所以用舊的Logo就別有一番滋味了.說不定啦說不定是我想太多^^"
