NTT DoCoMo、Sharp以及早稻田大學，協同研發出新的紅外線標準規格，其傳輸速率比過去快上4到10倍之多。新的 Dubbed IR Simple傳輸協定，使用著現存硬體設備以及所有向後相容的裝置，而且這些設備可以由行動傳輸的方式來更新韌體。這東西只有在日本可能會比較盛行，日本在這方面正日益增壯著，如果這玩意真的突然增快4到10倍的速度，也許就會像Twisted Sister樂團一般短暫的重回表演舞台，不過我們可不想再看到那頭恐怖的長髮。
