這張橘黃色的光碟，是日本六家公司聯合開發的下一代DVD產品－HVD(Holographic Versatile Disc)。HVD能夠讓消費者可以放置相當於200張的DVD光碟容量，另支援每秒1G的讀寫速度，相當於DVD的40倍。相信在不久的日子後，你會把家裏占位置的DVD光碟全扔了吧(兩年前才扔過CD)，下五代的Canon攝影機，是否已經開始規劃把HVD當作標準規格呢？。
看起来不错的样子，但愿不会像DVD和所谓的“下一代DVD”（蓝光DVD/HD-DVD）那样，出来很多标准，出来很多争议，从而延误了实际应用。
