Digital Photography Review網站評論這台二月首次現身的Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H1 高光學變焦數位相機。這台500萬像素、12倍光學變焦、防手震、2.5吋LCD螢幕以及32MB內建記憶體，儲存媒體當然使用Memory Stick記憶卡。Digital Photography Review相當喜歡這台相機，以「完成度高，令人激賞」來形容DSC-H1，這台Sony第一次嘗試闖入，500畫素「高光學變焦」競爭市場的數位相機(編註：DCview也為DSC-H1 作中文評論，大家可前往參考)。
